For the day, The Chalet of Canandaigua opens its grounds to you — the gardens and stone pathways, the covered porch with its long view across the hills, the Great Room with its hand-hewn log walls and wood-burning stove, and the pond just beyond.

Your guests arrive somewhere that feels like a retreat rather than a rental. Nobody is hurried along to make room for the next party, and the afternoon is allowed to take as long as it takes.

Every Kind of Gathering

A bridal shower on the porch with the gardens in bloom. A baby shower by the fire when the weather turns. A rehearsal dinner the night before. A bachelorette weekend that trades the hotel block for a fire pit and a pond. A family reunion, a milestone birthday, an anniversary that deserves more than a reservation.

The setting changes with the season — Finger Lakes foliage in October, the wood-burning stove going in January, the gardens at their peak in June — but the feeling doesn’t. Quiet, unhurried, and entirely yours for the day.

Food service is available whenever you’d like it — a breakfast spread before a morning shower, lunch for a family gathering, coffee and something sweet carrying through the afternoon. Tell us what the day calls for and we’ll arrange it.

You’re also welcome to bring your own caterer, florist, or photographer. The Chalet is the setting; how you fill it is up to you. And if your guests would rather not drive home afterward, our three suites are available for the night.
