Perched on a secluded hillside, The Chalet of Canandaigua Bed & Breakfast offers luxurious accommodations in a peaceful and private location as well as easy access to the attractions of the Finger Lakes wine country.
The majestic log home that is now The Chalet was originally built by G. Henry Boyce in 1966. Envisioned as an idyllic retreat in the woods, the original log home was a small two bedroom cabin, hidden far back on the property, and accessible only by a rough dirt road.
The property was purchased in 1974 by Lodge Ridge Farms and then sold to Robert E. Lee and his wife Ann in 1976. The Lees enhanced the already impressive log cabin and surrounding property through major renovations over the course of the 30 years that they lived there turning it in to the idyllic home it is today.
In October of 2006, Margaret Covington and Pattie English, the current owners and innkeepers, acquired The Chalet with warm wishes from the Lee family.
It was Pattie and Margaret’s desire to continue the tradition of providing a peaceful haven of elegance and grace... "so that those who come to stay, wish they could never leave..."
Margaret and Pattie enthusiastically undertook the task of remodeling The Chalet into a luxurious bed & breakfast, and after extensive renovations and improvements, The Chalet opened for business in March 2007.
Now the perfect place for romantic getaways, special events, or business travel, The Chalet features three comfortable bedroom suites, spacious common areas, and a second story porch that offers views of the surrounding countryside. Set well back from the main road, The Chalet grounds include a tranquil pond surrounded by willows, walking trails in the woods, and spacious lawns for events or quiet relaxation. Just minutes from downtown Canandaigua, The Chalet offers the perfect balance between privacy and convenience.
